Ética e privacidade familiar na era da intelixencia artificial

Abstract: The progressive expansion of artificial intelligence is transforming the home into an object of economic interest and technological intrusion. Devices designed to facilitate family life, such as household appliances, vehicles, sensors, and digital assistants are turning the most intimate spaces of the home into valuable data sources for market logics. Protecting family privacy, and especially safeguarding the best interests of the child, must take precedence over any supposed informational benefit or commercial interest. In fact, when privacy is violated, the human being is reduced to a mere object.
In the first part, we will outline some conclusions on family privacy from our studies of sixty five national codes of journalistic ethics, drafted and adopted by journalists in forty-two European countries. We will then examine the challenges that AI poses to privacy within the family (ch. 2) and in the lives of minors (ch. 3), and finally propose strategies to address these challenges (ch. 4).

Resumen: La progresiva expansión de la inteligencia artificial está transformando el hogar en un objeto de interés económico y de intrusión tecnológica. Dispositivos diseñados para facilitar la vida familiar, como electrodomésticos, vehículos, sensores y asistentes digitales, están convirtiendo los espacios más íntimos del hogar en valiosas fuentes de datos para las lógicas del mercado. La protección de la privacidad familiar, y especialmente la salvaguarda del interés superior del menor, debe prevalecer sobre cualquier supuesto beneficio informativo o interés comercial. De hecho, cuando se vulnera la privacidad, el ser humano se reduce a un mero objeto.
En la primera parte, expondremos algunas conclusiones sobre la privacidad familiar derivadas de nuestro estudio de sesenta y cinco códigos deontológicos periodísticos de cuarenta y dos países europeos. Analizaremos también los desafíos que la inteligencia artificial plantea a la privacidad en el ámbito familiar (cap. 2) y en la vida de los menores (cap. 3), para finalmente proponer estrategias que permitan afrontar dichos desafíos (cap. 4).

Resumo: A progresiva expansión da intelixencia artificial está a transformar o fogar nun obxecto de interese económico e de intrusión tecnolóxica. Dispositivos deseñados para facilitar a vida familiar, como electrodomésticos, vehículos, sensores e asistentes dixitais, están a converter os espazos máis íntimos do fogar en valiosas fontes de datos para as lóxicas do mercado. A protección da privacidade familiar, e especialmente salvagárdaa do interese superior do menor, debe prevalecer sobre calquera suposto beneficio informativo ou interese comercial. De feito, cando se vulnera a privacidade, o ser humano redúcese a un mero obxecto.
Na primeira parte, expoñeremos algunhas conclusións sobre a privacidade familiar derivadas do noso estudo de sesenta e cinco códigos deontolóxicos xornalísticos de corenta e dous países europeos. Analizaremos tamén os desafíos que a intelixencia artificial expón á privacidade no ámbito familiar (cap. 2) e na vida dos menores (cap. 3), para finalmente propoñer estratexias que permitan afrontar devanditos desafíos (cap. 4).
